The practice

Gynecology focused entirely on you — not the next delivery

Dr. Toubi no longer practices obstetrics. This is a deliberate choice — and it matters for the quality of care you receive.

In most traditional OB/GYN offices, the non-pregnant woman is squeezed between deliveries, C-sections, and prenatal visits. Appointments are short. Concerns are triaged. Complex gynecologic issues get a few minutes at best. The practice was designed around pregnancy — and everything else comes second.

This practice is built entirely around the non-pregnant woman. Fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, hormonal health, sexual function, menopause, vulvovaginal disease — these are not afterthoughts here. They are the entire focus. Dr. Toubi brings specialist depth to the full breadth of gynecologic care, and she has the time to do it properly.

And if your concern turns out to be more specialized — vulvodynia, GSM, perimenopause, a sexual health issue — you don't need a referral to another office. Dr. Toubi addresses it here, in the same appointment.

Dr. Karen Toubi

"My job is to give you excellent information. Educated women make excellent choices for their own health. Every recommendation I make comes with an honest explanation of why — and what your alternatives are."

Procedures that don't have to hurt

IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies, colposcopies — these procedures have a reputation for being painful, and many women avoid necessary care because of it. Dr. Toubi takes pain management for in-office procedures seriously. Local anesthetic, careful technique, and a patient-centered approach are standard. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is available in the office for patients with anxiety or heightened pain sensitivity — offering safe, effective relaxation with no recovery time. You should not dread your gynecology appointments.

Have a concern you've been putting off? Preventive care is always better than reactive care — and this is a comfortable, judgment-free office to do it in.

What we offer

Core gynecologic services

Well-Woman Examinations

Pap smears, STI screening, breast examination, and mammogram interpretation and referral. A well-woman visit here also includes a conversation about hormonal health, sexual wellbeing, and whatever is on your mind. Not just the checklist — the full picture.

Comprehensive Lab Testing & Proactive Screening

Hormones, metabolic markers, thyroid, inflammation, nutrient levels — because you can't optimize what you haven't measured. Preventive screenings are ordered when clinically indicated for you as an individual, not only when a population-level guideline says "it's time." For example, women with risk factors for bone loss may receive a DEXA scan well before the standard age-65 recommendation — because catching bone loss early means something can actually be done about it.

Body Composition Analysis

A precise picture of muscle mass, fat distribution, metabolic rate, and visceral fat — all profoundly affected by hormonal changes and directly relevant to long-term health. This gives a meaningful baseline for guiding nutrition, exercise, and hormonal recommendations, and for tracking real change over time. Because a number on the scale tells you very little about what's actually happening inside your body.

Contraception — IUDs, Implants & Beyond

Expert counseling on the full spectrum of contraceptive options — hormonal and non-hormonal, short-acting and long-acting. IUD insertions are performed in-office with local anesthetic and nitrous oxide available. If a contraceptive method is affecting your mood, libido, or vaginal health, that conversation is welcome and important here.

Abnormal Bleeding

Heavy, irregular, or unexpected uterine bleeding requires proper evaluation — not a wait-and-see approach. Dr. Toubi performs in-office pelvic ultrasound and endometrial assessment to identify the cause and build an appropriate treatment plan, including bleeding changes during perimenopause or related to HRT.

Fibroids

Uterine fibroids are among the most common gynecologic conditions, yet women are frequently undertreated or not counseled on the full range of options. Dr. Toubi evaluates fibroid burden with in-office ultrasound and discusses the complete landscape of management — from expectant management and medical therapy to minimally invasive surgical options — so you can make a truly informed decision about your care. Fibroid-related symptoms including heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, pain, and urinary changes are taken seriously and addressed systematically.

Endometrial Polyps

Endometrial polyps are a common and frequently overlooked cause of abnormal uterine bleeding, spotting between periods, and infertility. In-office pelvic ultrasound identifies polyps with high accuracy — and when removal is indicated, Dr. Toubi performs hysteroscopic polypectomy herself. No referral, no extra coordination, no waiting. From diagnosis to treatment, it stays in one practice.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis affects roughly 1 in 10 women and takes an average of 7–10 years to diagnose — often because painful periods are dismissed as "normal." They are not. Dr. Toubi takes a thorough history, evaluates symptoms carefully, and offers medical management including hormonal suppression and pain control. Surgical evaluation and referral for excision are discussed when appropriate. Women with endometriosis deserve a physician who believes them and understands the condition's complexity — including its overlap with pelvic floor dysfunction, sexual pain, and bowel and bladder involvement.

Pelvic Pain

Chronic pelvic pain is one of the most complex and underserved areas of gynecology. It can stem from endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, pelvic floor dysfunction, vulvodynia, interstitial cystitis, nerve entrapment, or a combination of conditions — and frequently goes undiagnosed for years because no single provider is looking at the full picture. Dr. Toubi evaluates pelvic pain comprehensively, considers the full differential, and coordinates multimodal management rather than cycling through the same limited treatments. If you have been told "everything looks normal" while still in pain, that answer is not good enough.

Pelvic Ultrasound

In-office, high-resolution pelvic ultrasound for fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometrial assessment, and structural concerns — interpreted and discussed in the same visit. No waiting for a separate radiology report before a plan is formed.

Menses Manipulation for Travel & Special Events

Need to delay or skip a period for a trip, wedding, or athletic event? Safe, evidence-based options exist. Dr. Toubi offers hormonal cycle manipulation tailored to your contraceptive status and preferences.

Menstrual Health & Hormonal Concerns

Painful periods, PMS, PMDD, irregular cycles — not things you should simply endure. These are treatable medical conditions. Dr. Toubi evaluates the full hormonal picture and offers targeted management.

Vulvovaginal Disorders

Deep expertise in vulvar skin conditions — lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, recurrent infections, and vulvar dermatitis. Frequently missed at standard visits. If you've been treated for "yeast" repeatedly without resolution, or have persistent itching, burning, or skin changes — this is the evaluation you've been waiting for.

Perimenopause & Menopause Management

Specialist-level menopause care within a gynecology practice — HRT, testosterone therapy, non-hormonal options, and comprehensive hormonal evaluation. Learn more →

Sexual Health

Painful sex, decreased libido, difficulty with arousal or orgasm — medical concerns that belong in a gynecology visit, even if they're rarely discussed there. Dr. Toubi's training in sexual medicine means you get real answers. Learn more →

Common questions

What patients ask before their first visit

Do I need a referral?

No referral required. Book directly through the website or by calling the office.

I've been to other gynecologists and left with no answers. Will this be different?

That's exactly who this practice is built for. If you have concerns that have been dismissed or undertreated — especially around sexual health, pelvic pain, or menopause — appointments here are longer and more thorough by design.

I'm anxious about procedures. Is that okay to say?

Absolutely — and it's exactly why nitrous oxide is available in this office. An IUD insertion or biopsy should not be a traumatic experience. Pain control and patient comfort are treated as seriously as the procedure itself.

What makes Dr. Toubi different from a standard gynecologist?

Two things, really: what she offers and how she practices.

On the services side: body composition analysis, specialist-level sexual medicine and menopause care, testosterone therapy, vulvovaginal dermatology, EmFemme radiofrequency, shockwave therapy, pelvic floor Botox, vestibulectomy (performed at a surgical center), DEXA ordering based on individual risk, and comprehensive preventive lab panels — all within one practice.

But equally important is the approach. Dr. Toubi genuinely listens. She takes the time to understand your full history, answers every question until you actually feel clear, and doesn't move on until you do. She is thorough in a way that is increasingly rare in medicine — and she takes her own education just as seriously as patient care. She attends international conferences, reads the primary literature, and holds active memberships in The Menopause Society, ISSWSH, and ISSVD — because the only way to bring patients the best possible evidence-based care is to stay at the forefront of it. What you get here isn't just a longer appointment. It's a physician who is genuinely invested in getting it right.
